An El Vez show is an experience unlike any other. The self- proclaimed Mexican Elvis, El Vez mixes Latin themes with Elvis Presley's songs for always humorous results. The playful tone does not overshadow what is excellent music either. Witty, theatrical, sometimes political and immensely entertaining, a ticket to see El Vez is a ticket to a spectacle. Costume changes, comical banter with the crowd and the lovely female back- up singers, 'the Elvettes' are all part of the package. To call it a concert does not do him justice- El Vez truly puts on a show.

I have had the pleasure of attending 4 El Vez shows, one in Portland, OR., two at the Middle East in Cambridge, MA. and most recently at the Paradise in Boston, MA.
The photos below are from his 'Merry Mex-mas' Show at the Paradise on December 6, 2006.
El Vez and the Elvettes stuck around after the show for some photos.
This was a major relief, as I had forgotten to sign up online for the preshow photo and autograph.

The following photos are from the Middle East on December 8, 2002.
Prior to the show, Mr. Vez joins some lucky fans for a photo and greeting.
One of the lovely Elvettes snapped the Polaroid, while El Vez himself said to me, "Welcome to my igloo, which does not look like an igloo.
Feel free to use this photo as a Christmas card, but do not use the likeness of El Vez after Christmas 2002, or we will sue."
After the show, the Man graciously signed autographs and mingled with his fans.
The stylish red jacket he is wearing in the photos above reads 'Martin H.S.' on the arms.
I asked if he went to Martin High School and he said a fan gave it the jacket to him, and it was so comfortable he could keep it.
